"You know that point in your life when you realize that the house you grew up in isn’t really your home anymore…all of the sudden even though you have some place to put your shit, that idea of home is gone. It sort happens one day. It's gone. It's like you can never get it back. It's like you feel homesick for a place that doesn't exist...or maybe it's like this rite of passage…you will never have that feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself, for your kids, for the family you start. It’s like a cycle or something. Maybe that’s all family really is: a group of people that miss the same imaginary place..."
One of my favorite scenes from Garden State. Yes, Garden State. What was initially coined "the film of our generation," has now become somewhat of a mockery and played out. Nonetheless, the dialogue and visuals, from that scene in particular, often drift in and out of my consciousness.
I'm not exactly sure how this lengthy post on residency came about, nor do I see how it relates to the photo? (It really doesn't...It wasn't even taken today). Even so, I could easily blame Michael Bublé and his incessant need to "go home"...for the fourth time today. Or it could very well be the result of one slippery-slope kind of a day. ...head to toe.
