Dimitrios from ATHENS, Greeceyou dring alone! but you want to be with her!!!, just speak out your feelings 4 Feb 2007 10:02am @Dimitrios: There's something about the bar...and the search for some sort of connection, with anyone, anything...thanks for comment. Come back soon! Jerry from Tampa, United StatesWOW - great questions and one could go on for days with the possibilities!!!! I love the shot renee! It's amazing the DOF you got shooting at 2.8!!!! Good job! 4 Feb 2007 10:57am @Jerry: Thanks, once i have enough money, i plan on upgrading my 'digital-image apparatus'. Thanks for the comment, come back soon! Kheoh Yee Wei from pj, MalaysiaI see [LIFE] which is worth more than thousands words ! ;) 4 Feb 2007 3:20pm @Kheoh Yee Wei: [Life]...a concept that might take a bit more than a thousand words to chronicle...if you can do it in under a thousand, you're not living your life to it's potential. Thanks for the comment, come back soon! Kheoh Yee Wei from pj, MalaysiaI see [LIFE] which is worth more than thousands words ! ;) 4 Feb 2007 3:20pm @Js_24: i like, simple and to the point...Thanks for the comment, come back soon! Paul Ricciardi from West Hartford, United StatesWhat a challenge...and one that is so eminently fitting to this image. I love this photograph, it is so well done, yet on top of that it sings to me of alcoholic poetry...poetry that just yearns to be released. And, by stroke of luck, or perhaps fate, you have asked for that poetry to be released. And I, a poet by nature, cannot help but respond. This should be 100 words even, I just composed it as I went along and then went back and counted. I might have miscounted, so I apologize. In any event, I would recommend reading this aloud, that is how poetry is meant to be read. With that said, here's my humble submission: There are echoes. 4 Feb 2007 4:12pm @Paul Ricciardi: You're words recount the often solitary sensation one experiences while sitting unaccompanied at the bar, either male or female. So vulnerable and exposed, naked; what is it that keeps us coming back, where is the allure? Your lyrical interpretation of my perspective on life, through my eyes, my lens, is much appreciated. in the time it took you to compose such a telling analysis of said pixelation, one could also consume the dirty martini atop the bar. Francis from Hong KongI love the perspective, and the questions this photo asks ? 4 Feb 2007 4:34pm @Francis: What questions come to mind? LAC from United StatesDo you know that fist? Of was this a sly shot? 5 Feb 2007 1:30am @LAC: That would be my friend Joe's fist. Donna S. Compton from United StatesSuch depth you've exposed in this image in the reflection of the glass on the bar and the distance between the two drinks. It's a photograph that captures philosophy - a fundamental nature of closeness and distance. I can hear the sighing from an ethereal world. Griitty and comforting at the same time. 5 Feb 2007 2:39am Donna S. Compton from United StatesOh, crap, I pushed the wrong button and missed that typo - after 2 glasses of wine I should simply stand back and watch the young people teach the older. What an amazing perspective you have. 5 Feb 2007 2:43am @Donna S. Compton: is this THE Mrs. Compton? i appreciate your comments and thank you for visiting my site. As for the wine...i hope it was consumed with the greatest of company, or alone, either way it's still enjoyable. Jp from Downingtown, United StatesI see the the relaxing end to a day of a rich life or the beginning of a well paced enjoyable evening together only seperated by glance, a smile an introduction. 5 Feb 2007 3:55am @Jp: i think you're right on with the 'glance' Jp from Downingtown, United StatesBTW I forgot to add, I don't know why you would want a new "apparatus" when you can create images like this with what you currently have. 5 Feb 2007 3:59am Donna S. Compton from United StatesYes, THE Mrs. C. (enjoying wine with The GREATEST of company, Mr. C.) 5 Feb 2007 11:25am Jason Kravitz from Brussels, BelgiumI like the challenge and the comments that have followed... It is a fun exercise to see what can be portrayed in an image and what can be described in words. Images aren't bound by the limitations of speaking the same language or the lack of words to describe feelings. The interesting part comes when people view the same image through their own perspective, filters, conditioning and can come out with a completely different interpretation of the same seemingly neutral situation. In this image I imagine they are both engaged by the television on the wall behind the bar. She is thinking about the health benefits of omega 3 fatty acids and he is thinking about whether or not to wait for commercial before going to the bathroom. Ah the human experience - so many different possibilities! 5 Feb 2007 11:55am @Jason Kravitz: isn't that what 'art' is all about, one's interpretation of another's work or perspective. Thanks for the comment...come back soon! BigSis from United StatesLooks to me like he's getting ready to do "rock, paper, scissors" with himself to either a)decide to order another drink or b)decide to scoot a few stools down to mingle with the lady in the background. 5 Feb 2007 2:35pm Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomYour best photos like this one are intriguing and very involving emotionally. Thats more important than ultimate image quality - besides do you really think you would have had a DSLR with you in that bar ready to take the shot? 17 Sep 2007 11:09am |
